1. SHORT STORY

It seems obvious that shorts would be in style again for the warmer seasons. But to truly be in style this spring, you’ve got to choose the length of your shorts wisely.

If you’re brave enough to bare your legs, then go for “short shorts” (the kind that reach mid-thigh) – they’re a courageous choice for most, but look stylish worn resort style with a button down shirt and a pair of boat shoes.

But if you’re more conservative, then you’ll be glad to know that the season’s newest style is knee-skimming shorts that are slightly longer than usual, and a truly wearable trend.

Spring Style Tip #1 Get your legs summer ready after the harsher winter elements by scrubbing away dead cells and rejuvenating dull skin with the Hunter Lab Exfoliating Body Bar.

2. ANORAK IS BACK

The humble Anorak is getting a high-fashion boost this season as the must-have item for when sudden rain showers hit. Plus it’s a great lightweight wardrobe addition to layer over your spring gear on cooler nights, and easily goes with outfits you’ll already own.

3. WHITE OUT

White is the perfect fresh and crisp colour for the warmer seasons. And this spring, the white item to own is chinos or pants. Similar to other neutral complementary colours like black, grey, and beige, white is the perfect canvas for any outfit, smart or casual.

For summer, we love a nautical look (achieved by simply adding shades of blue, stripes and boat shoes), or even a sporty style that’s best matched with a t-shirt and sneakers.

Spring Style Tip #2 Boat shoes are a key item for spring and summer – simple to style, easy to take on and off, and comfortable enough to take you from day to night. Keep them neat throughout the season with the Ted Baker Shoe Shine Kit.

4. COLOUR IS KEY

Surprisingly, the key colours for this season aren’t what you’d expect, as cool colours one usually associates with winter make a summer appearance.

Grey is a colour most men already have in their wardrobe, so nail this season’s leading colour by layering different shades to create a single look.

Plush shades of green are also leading the season’s trends, best paired with various degrees of brown, from rich chocolate, all the way down to lighter camel and beige.

Navy blue is the other latest addition to the spring 2016 colour palette where lighter shades of the hue previously reigned. It pairs perfectly with lighter neutral shades and brown shoes or white sneakers.

5. PRINTS CHARMING

Dare to be bold this spring with intriguing patterns! From shorts and shirts, to tees and pants, you can’t go wrong with an interesting pattern. And if you’re really brave, try matching or mixing patterns for a standout take on this trend.
